not another blah hallway

I was watching Sarah' House on HGTV a couple of months ago and Sarah went on to say that people often forget about their hallways.  Then it dawned on me!  I have a terribly boring hallway.  I remember when I first sheetrocked my hallway and painted it creamy white with a few pieces of black and white photography...blah...Since then my design asthetic has really evolved and become more modern.  I have always loved color, especially paint.

I really went outside my comfort zone by choosing a navy, Benjamin Moore Newburyport Blue HC-155.  I am so happy I did!  The contrast with the white trim is my favorite.  The navy also made the hallway look huge.  Also, a new lighting fixture can upgrade any room, so I went out there with that one too and embraced my inner modern being.  So with inspiration from both Sarah's House and Pinkberry, here is the revamped hallway.  I did the entire hallway for under $250.

Pinkberry Lighting Fixtures

Lighting Fixtures found on etsy (one of my faves) for about $50 a piece

Wall Plaques from Z galleries $30 per plaque

Before: I did not document this!  Just imagine boring white walls.

After:

This painting was a flea market find by my mom.  This is the third home we have put it in.

It actually has a gorgeous white glow.

Portrait of my grammies from when she was in high school.  I loved how the gold of both of these painting complemented the navy walls.

Black and white photograph of Ferry Building in San Francisco.  I purchased this from a local artist at the Saturday market held outside the Ferry Building.

Last but not least, the flower plaques from Z galleries.

Hope you enjoyed!
